Role Responsibilities
As Solicitor & Head of Litigation, you will combine hands-on fee earning with strategic departmental leadership across North Yorkshire.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial litigation, civil litigation, property disputes and contentious probate matters
- Achieving and overseeing billing, WIP and performance targets across the department
- Leading, mentoring and developing fee earners and support staff, conducting regular performance reviews
- Driving departmental strategy, compliance and risk management in line with the wider business plan
- Supporting business development and strengthening referral networks across North Yorkshire
- The Solicitor & Head of Litigation will be a visible leader, setting standards of excellence while continuing to build a strong personal practice.
Person Specification
Applications are invited from experienced Litigation Solicitors or Dispute Resolution Solicitors with substantial fee-earning and proven managerial experience.
The successful Solicitor & Head of Litigation will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience running a busy litigation caseload independently
- Strong leadership and team management capability
- Commercial awareness with experience monitoring KPIs and departmental profitability
- Excellent communication, organisational and client care skills
- A proactive approach to growth and networking within North Yorkshire
