Eventus Legal are seeking a CICA Solicitor to join a specialist Abuse Compensation team in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. This is a full-time, permanent position with up to £45,000-£50,000, hybrid working and full training in this specialist area of personal injury litigation. The successful CICA Solicitor will also benefit from 26 days' holiday rising to 31 days plus statutory bank holidays, a discretionary bonus scheme, employee healthcare plan, pension scheme and life insurance.
Role Responsibilities
This CICA Solicitor job offers the opportunity to develop within a highly specialist team representing clients in Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority matters. Key responsibilities will include:
- Working within the CICA team and progressing Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims for clients
- Providing a sensitive, empathetic and client-focused service to individuals pursuing compensation following abuse or violent crime
- Applying general personal injury litigation knowledge within a specialist CICA environment
- Undertaking advocacy where required as part of the progression of claims
- Maintaining clear written and verbal communication with clients throughout their matters
- Using the firm's paper-lite systems and working efficiently within established processes
- Developing specialist knowledge of CICA claims through the full training provided
Person Specification
The firm is looking for a Solicitor who combines strong organisation and communication skills with a compassionate and sensitive approach to client care. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years’ PQE
- A good general understanding of personal injury litigation
- Excellent client care skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident advocacy skills and the ability to represent clients effectively
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working with IT systems in a paper-lite environment
- Previous knowledge or experience of handling CICA claims would be advantageous, although this is not essential
