Eventus Recruitment is seeking a Senior Legal Assistant to join a highly specialist and innovative law firm on a permanent, full-time basis in Guildford. The incoming Senior Legal Assistant will benefit from a dynamic role supporting senior solicitors on commercial property transactions. Role Responsibilities
This is a key role working directly with the firm's senior solicitors and directors, offering a wide variety of support across complex property and commercial transactions. You will be expected to work independently and handle tasks to a high standard after training.
The day-to-day job duties within this role include:
- Assisting solicitors throughout the transaction process
- Undertaking property searches
- Preparing and submitting SDLT returns and handling payment processes
- Sourcing and managing indemnity insurance policies
- Managing pre- and post-completion work
- Supporting litigation (court bundling, e-filing, etc.)
- Chasing clients for outstanding information
- Handling incoming and outgoing post, scanning and archiving documents
- Managing file closures and deed storage
Person Specification
The successful Senior Legal Assistant will bring strong experience from a legal support background and have the confidence to manage transactional responsibilities with minimal supervision. Candidates from Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, or Paralegal backgrounds will all be considered.
You will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Recent experience in a legal support role within a UK law firm
- Previous property experience (residential or commercial) highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong IT literacy – the firm is entirely paperless
- Reliable, organised, and a quick learner
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A proactive, can-do attitude and strong problem-solving ability
