Senior IFA Administrator

Ref: 2636| Posted: 15th Oct 2026

Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Senior IFA Administrator to join a whole of market financial planning firm in Altrincham, Cheshire, which is putting its support team in place before it adds advisers. This full-time, permanent job pays £33,000 to £36,000, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with hybrid working of up to three days a week from home. The package includes a 5% employer pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off, death in service at three times salary and funded exam support. It suits a career administrator who wants supervisory responsibility from day one and high net worth casework, in an owner-run firm in Altrincham, Cheshire with no plans to sell.

Role Responsibilities

This Senior IFA Administrator job sits at the centre of a small team looking after high net worth individuals, families, business owners and medical professionals, where the average client household holds well over £1m. The firm deliberately keeps its client numbers low so each family gets more support, which means the cases are complex and the paperwork has to be right first time. The incoming Senior IFA Administrator takes on supervisory responsibility from the start, and for anyone who wants it, that side of the job is a development path as the firm grows.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the administration on complex high net worth cases from start to finish
  • Acting as the main contact for clients, providers and advisers on live cases
  • Improving the team's processes as the firm adds advisers
  • Training and supporting newer administrators through their first months
  • Preparing valuations and review packs ahead of client meetings
  • Processing new business, transfers and withdrawals with providers
  • Keeping client records accurate and files compliant and audit ready

Person Specification

The successful Senior IFA Administrator will ideally be someone who has chosen administration as a profession rather than as a stepping stone into paraplanning or advice. Experience in a financial advice firm working with high net worth clients will translate directly, whether the current title is senior financial planning administrator, client services administrator or wealth administrator. The firm wants someone the advisers and the rest of the team can rely on from the first month.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Several years' administration experience in a financial advice or financial planning firm
  • Experience with high net worth clients and complex, multi-provider cases
  • CII qualifications such as the Certificate in Financial Planning, welcome but not essential
  • Strong organisation across a varied caseload for more than one adviser
  • The initiative to spot problems early and resolve them without prompting
  • Accuracy and close attention to detail on client paperwork
  • Clear, professional communication with clients, providers and advisers
  • Discretion with the confidential affairs of wealthy clients
  • A long-term outlook and the wish to build a career with one firm

Benefits and Rewards

This Senior IFA Administrator job pays £33,000 to £36,000, full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with hybrid working of up to three days a week from home if desired. Alongside the salary, the employer offers:

  • Salary of £33,000 to £36,000
  • Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
  • Hybrid and remote working, up to three days a week from home
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • A day off for your birthday each year
  • 5% employer pension contribution
  • Death in service at three times salary
  • Funded exam support
  • Supervisory responsibility from day one, with room to grow it

About the Company

The employer is a financial planning firm in Altrincham, Cheshire, advising high net worth individuals, families, business owners and medical professionals on a whole of market basis. It is a deliberately small practice of eight people, and some of its client relationships go back thirty years. It is owned by three working directors, two of whom advise clients day to day, and they intend to stay for the long term, with no sale or exit planned.

Growth here follows a set order: support staff come first, then roughly one new adviser a year, so nobody joins a team that is stretched by advisers it cannot service. People progress too, and one of the firm's paraplanners is moving into advice with the owners' backing.
