Eventus Legal Recruitment is recruiting a qualified Conveyancer to join a respected firm in Hastings, East Sussex. This is a fee earning role handling an established caseload while also playing a key part in building the conveyancing services for the firm in the local area. The position is full time and permanent and offers a salary of £50-60k depending on experience, bonus scheme, and progression opportunities.
Role Responsibilities
The duties of the Conveyancer in the Hastings, East Sussex office will include:
- Manage an existing caseload of residential property files, including purchases, sales, freehold and leasehold transactions
- Handle a variety of matters such as shared ownership, Right to Buy, new builds, unregistered properties, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity
- Perform title checks, raise and respond to title queries
- Run relevant searches, prepare reports and ensure due diligence requirements are met
- Manage the full conveyancing process from onboarding through to completion, with administrative support
- Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, estate agents and other third parties
- Engage in business-development activities, including building relationships with local estate agents and other introducers
- Develop the opportunity to help shape the department and offices growth
Person Specification
The profile for the Conveyancer consists of the following elements:
- A qualified solicitor, legal executive, or licensed conveyancer with at least 3 years PQE within residential conveyancing
- Experienced in a broad range of transactions, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and ideally some knowledge of new builds
- Comfortable with business development and relationship building in addition to case management duties
- Ambitious and proactive to drive the profile of the conveyancing services in the local area
- Excellent communication and client management skills and be able to engage effectively with third parties and lenders
- A strong team player who can also work independently and take ownership of their caseload and development goals
