Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced and credible Licensed Conveyancer to join a highly successful award winning firm based in Bradford or Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The successful Conveyancer will work in an industry leading legal firm where you’ll drive the firm's development in line with the firm’s business plan, proactively creating and managing business opportunities that align with the team’s growth objectives and financial performance standards. You'll play an active role in the continuing development of the firm, bringing fresh ideas and improvements that improve the client service and operational efficiency. This is a full time, permanent role offering a competitive salary up to £40,000, hybrid working, 25 days annual leave plus your birthday off, continuous professional development, wellbeing hours, health cash plan, group life assurance and pension contribution

Role Responsibilities:

The incoming Residential Conveyancer will actively contribute to the continuing evolution of the firm, identifying improvements and innovations that enhance their service. They believe in developing, retaining, and rewarding their staff by providing stimulating work opportunities for career development and progression at all levels within the firm. This includes:

  • Manage all client work allocated by the head of department or other partner and in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards set by the firm from time to time
  • Ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously, and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and on costs
  • At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all the firm’s and client documentation and information
  • To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording
  • Work in close liaison with the Accounts Department, to have overall responsibility for credit control on own matters
  • Comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors
  • In liaison with Head of department and other partners, to be active in promoting the services of the firm and its image and ethos
  • In liaison with Head of department and other partners, to take active part in the marketing, promotion, and development of the department
  • Maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the firm.
  • Ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
  • Supervise, support and develop immediate support staff
  • Take responsibility for and attend to self-development
  • Act as directed by the head of department in the process of client files and to adhere to the firm’s procedures and Office Procedures Manual.
  • Work in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Solicitors Regulation Authority, Law Society and Financial Conduct Authority so far as they affect the client work which you undertake.

Person Specification:
The successful Residential Conveyancer will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication skills, and be an excellent team player. Based in the Bradford or Ilkley, West Yorkshire office the successful candidate will play a key role in helping to drive the successful development of the firm in line with their business plan, creating and managing business opportunities that support the residential departments growth and financial performance objectives.

  • Qualified Licensed Conveyancer
  • Possess relevant experience in handling and processing residential sales, purchases, and remortgages with minimal supervision
  • Ability to mentor, support and encourage other members of the department in the process of the department’s client files
  • Excellent team building and people management skills
  • A friendly but assertive manner in dealing with colleagues and clients, tact, and resilience
  • First class communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Efficient and well organised with excellent control of complex diary systems and competence in the firm’s IT and case management systems
