Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to play a key part in the launch of a new Durham, County Durham office for an award-winning, CQS-accredited multi-office law firm. This full-time, permanent job offers £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience, 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays increasing with service, a performance-related bonus, wellbeing support and ongoing training and development. The firm offers genuine flexibility around working patterns, including scope to consider four days for the right person, and hybrid working can also be discussed around individual circumstances. Standard hours are 9am to 5pm and the position is primarily office-based. You will join ahead of the Durham office opening, initially working from another office within County Durham, and have the opportunity to help establish the firm's local presence and develop strong relationships with lenders and other property professionals. The firm is also very open to an established Residential Conveyancer moving with a trusted Legal Secretary or Conveyancing Assistant.
Role Responsibilities
The incoming Residential Conveyancer will manage a varied residential property caseload while helping establish the firm's presence in Durham. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing residential conveyancing transactions including sales, purchases, Buy-to-Let, leasehold matters, new builds, shared ownership, remortgages and transfers of equity.
- Providing proactive communication and excellent client care throughout each transaction.
- Using Land Registry and lender portals to progress matters efficiently and accurately.
- Maintaining high standards of compliance, file management and risk awareness.
- Developing strong local professional relationships with lenders and other property professionals in and around Durham.
Person Specification
This Residential Conveyancer job in Durham, County Durham will suit an established conveyancing professional who is confident managing their own caseload with a high degree of autonomy. Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience of independently managing a full residential conveyancing caseload.
- Strong working knowledge of freehold and leasehold transactions, new builds and other common residential property matters.
- Experience using legal case management systems, Land Registry services and lender portals.
- Excellent organisation, communication and client care skills.
- A personable, relationship-led approach to clients and local professional contacts.
- Qualification as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive is welcomed but is not essential where strong relevant experience can be demonstrated.
