Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join a busy and long standing and dynamic Residential Conveyancing department in Alfreton, Derbyshire. This is a permanent, full time Conveyancing opportunity. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pensions scheme, flexible working and clear career prospects.

Role Responsibilities

As an experienced Residential Conveyancer you will be joining one of Derbyshire’s most highly regarded law firms within a supportive conveyancing teams. This Conveyancing role will suit an ambitious fee earner (solicitor, legal executive or CLC), who is able to manage a varied caseload and be confident in building relationships with clients.

Specific duties will include:

  • Manage a full caseload of residential and commercial sale, purchase, remortgage, transfer of equity, leasehold and freehold matters
  • Draft contracts, transfer deeds, completion statements and other legal documents
  • Review title documents, leases, searches and supporting paperwork for accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate with estate agents, lenders, brokers, surveyors, solicitors and local authorities.
  • Submit SDLT forms and register completed transactions with the Land Registry.
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules, CQS standards, AML regulations, trust registration and internal policies
  • Supervise administrative staff and paralegals as required.

Person Specification

Applications are sought from experienced and confident Residential Conveyancers (Solicitors, Legal Executives of Licensed Conveyancers) who have demonstrative experience within residential conveyancing

You will also have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience although all PQE levels are considered for this role
  • Prior experience managing a busy and varied residential conveyancing caseload
  • Experienced in leasehold and freehold transactions
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Confident IT user with experience of case management systems.
