Eventus Legal are seeking a skilled Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner to join a highly regarded, award-winning law firm in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a full-time, permanent job offering a competitive salary dependent on experience, hybrid and remote working options (typically 2 days from home), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, enhanced family leave, birthday leave, and excellent career development opportunities. The successful Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters, with full administrative support and access to the firm’s established client base.
Role Responsibilities
The incoming Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner will play a key role within the busy Residential Property department in Newcastle upon Tyne, managing a diverse caseload from instruction to completion, including:
- Handling sales, purchases, and Buy to Let transactions for freehold and leasehold properties.
- Managing new build purchases and sales, help to buy and right to buy schemes.
- Overseeing mortgages, re-mortgages, shared ownership and affordable housing matters, and transfer of equity cases.
- Drafting and negotiating legal documentation for residential property transactions.
- Communicating effectively with clients, estate agents, developers, lenders, and other solicitors across the North East.
- Ensuring files are accurately managed using the case management system (Proclaim) and complying with AML and SRA regulations.
- Delegating work to, and supporting, junior staff members.
- Participating in business development to grow the client base in Newcastle and the wider North East conveyancing market.
Person Specification
Applications are sought from Solicitors, Legal Executives, Licenced Conveyancers, or experienced non-qualified Fee Earners who can demonstrate at least 1 year’s experience in a fee earning role. You will also have:
- A proven track record managing your own busy and varied residential conveyancing caseload.
- Strong knowledge of freehold, leasehold, and new build transactions, including reviewing TP1s and using the Land Registry Portal and lender portals.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
