Eventus Legal are seeking a Family Solicitor with experience in Legal Aid to join a highly regarded, Family Law team. This is a permanent role based at their York office and benefits include hybrid working with 3 days remotely from home, increasing holidays with service and life insurance.  

Role responsibilities

The firm are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Family Solicitor who will be responsible for managing their own caseloads, opening and maintaining client files and represent clients in court for publicly funded family matters.

Specific duties include:

• Successfully manage your own caseload under the supervision of a Supervising Solicitor
• Open and maintain client files
• Provide clear and comprehensive advice to clients
• Represent clients in court and at local authority
• Fully instruct counsel, agents and experts when required
• Ensure all court orders are read and actioned
• Complete Legal Aid applications
• Develop working relationships with professionals within the legal field

Person specification

Applications are welcomed from Solicitors or Legal Executives with experience in Family law, with publicly funded experience essential.  

We are looking for excellent client care skills from Solicitors who are pro-active and self-motivated, flexible and adaptive and can demonstrate an excellent attention to detail.

• Hybrid working –2 days office, 3 days remote – depends on court of course, but if court falls on an office day you aren’t asked to come in another day.
