Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Family Solicitor with 2 years + PQE for a specialist family law firm with a growing presence across Leicestershire. This position can offer full or part time hours and is a permanent job offering a salary of £42,000 to £55,000 depending on experience and initial remote working while a new office based is established in Leicestershire. Once that office opens, the arrangement will move to hybrid working. Role Responsibilities

As a Private Family Solicitor based in Leicestershire, you will take responsibility for your own private family matters while contributing to the development of the new office. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of divorce, financial remedy, private children and domestic abuse matters, with supervision appropriate to your experience.
• Taking instructions, advising clients sensitively and clearly, and managing cases from initial enquiry through to resolution.
• Drafting applications, statements, correspondence, agreements and orders, and negotiating with other parties and their representatives.
• Preparing matters for hearings and instructing and working with barristers where appropriate. Advocacy experience is not required.
• Maintaining accurate files, time recording, billing and client care standards.
• Working with the supervising solicitor linked to Melton Mowbray and the wider family team, with paralegal and legal secretarial assistance.
• Helping build the new office's local profile through professional relationships, networking and business development.

Person Specification

This position is open to family solicitors at different stages of their careers, with the scope of work and supervision matched to experience. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Qualification as a solicitor of England and Wales and a current practising certificate with a minimum of 2 years PQE.
• Practical experience in privately funded family law and the ability to manage an appropriate caseload
• Knowledge of divorce, financial remedy, private children and domestic abuse work.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, organisation and client care skills, including a sensitive approach to difficult family circumstances.
• Sound judgement about when to seek guidance and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and support staff.
• An interest in developing local professional relationships and contributing to a new office.
• An existing network in Leicestershire or Nottinghamshire would be useful but is not essential.
