Eventus Legal Recruitment is working with an established law firm to recruit an experienced Private Client Solicitor in their office in Epsom, Surrey. This is a full time, permanent position, offering some hybrid and flexible working, a competitive salary, and clear progression opportunities into senior and management roles. This role would suit an ambitious solicitor looking to develop their expertise in private client law within a reputable firm that is going through a successful growth phase. On offer is a salary in the range of £60-75k (depending on experience), bonus scheme, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown, pension, social events running through the year, and progression opportunities with development plans to achieve these.

Role Responsibilities

The Private Client Solicitor will be working out of the Epsom, Surrey office and you will play a key role in delivering high quality advice and service to clients. Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and growing a portfolio of private clients, providing expert legal advice on estate planning, trusts, tax planning, wills, and probate
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships
• Supervising the preparation of complex wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related legal documentation
• Overseeing the administration of estates, ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Engaging in business development and marketing activities, including attending networking events, collaborating with financial advisors and accountants, and writing articles or hosting client-facing events
• Maintaining strong risk and compliance practices, including adherence to AML, KYC, and data protection regulations
• Managing departmental financial performance, billing accuracy, and overall profitability
• Representing clients in contentious matters or negotiations involving estates or trusts, collaborating with other departments as required

Person Specification

The successful Private Client Solicitor candidate will demonstrate both technical excellence and a strong client service ethos. You will have:

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4+ PQE in Private Client law
• Expertise in estate and succession planning, tax planning, trust administration, wills, and probate
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver clear, tailored legal advice
• Leadership or supervisory experience within a Private Client team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
• A proactive, business-minded approach with confidence in developing new client relationships
• Up-to-date knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks, including AML, KYC, and GDPR
