This Private Client Solicitor job is ideal for an experienced Wills and Probate Solicitor, Private Client Lawyer or Chartered Legal Executive who is confident managing a broad and technical caseload across the full spectrum of private client work.

Role Responsibilities

As a Private Client Solicitor in Skipton, North Yorkshire, you will assume responsibility for an established and varied caseload. The incoming Private Client Solicitor will work within a collaborative and experienced team, advising clients across the Dales and wider North Yorkshire region.

Your responsibilities as a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive will include:

• Drafting Wills of all types from initial instruction through to execution.
• Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney.
• Obtaining Grants of Representation and administering estates, including preparation of Estate Accounts.
• Advising on Inheritance Tax planning and implementing arrangements including lifetime trusts and Deeds of Variation.
• Preparing and submitting Inheritance Tax accounts, including advising on Agricultural and Business Property Reliefs.
• Administering lifetime and Will trusts, preparing Trust Accounts and Tax Returns, and drafting Deeds to alter or terminate trusts.
• Preparing and submitting Court of Protection Deputyship applications and advising Attorneys on their responsibilities.
• Visiting clients at home, in hospital or in care settings where required.

This Private Client Solicitor job in Skipton, North Yorkshire will suit an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive who is confident handling a full caseload independently.

The successful Private Client Solicitor will demonstrate:

• Experience managing a broad Private Client caseload including Wills, Probate, Trusts and Tax matters.
• Strong technical knowledge of Inheritance Tax planning and estate administration.
• Excellent client care and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build long-term relationships with clients.
• A proactive and organised approach.
• A STEP qualification is desirable but not essential. However, the Private Client Solicitor must be willing to actively pursue the full STEP Diploma if not already achieved.
