Eventus Recruitment is seeking a Private Client Lawyer (Solicitor / CILEX / TEP) for a permanent job position (both full-time and part-time considered) based in Staines. Role Responsibilities
The incoming Private Client Lawyer will be responsible for leading and developing the private client function within the Staines office. The day-to-day duties within this job include:
- Managing and undertaking a diverse private client caseload — from straightforward wills to high-net-worth estates, LPA and Court of Protection matters, and inheritance tax planning
- Leading a division of the Private Client Department in Staines
- Supervising, mentoring, and coaching junior lawyers, trainees, and support staff
- Sustaining and enhancing the firm’s strong private client reputation
- Building strategic relationships with accountants, financial advisers, care agencies, and other professionals to deliver holistic client service
- Collaborating with senior leadership to drive business development, identify new leads, and maximise opportunities across the business
- Ensuring compliance with LEXCEL and ISO quality standards in all matters
Person Specification
The successful Private Client Solicitor / CILEX / TEP will bring approximately 5 years’ post-qualification experience (or equivalent as a CILEX-qualified Legal Executive). In addition, you will possess:
- Solid experience across all areas of private client work, including wills, trusts, estate administration, elderly client issues, LPAs, capacity, and inheritance tax planning
- A proven track record in mentoring and supporting junior team members
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy, high-volume caseload with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience in marketing and business development within the private client area
- A results-driven and commercially minded approach, with evidence of contributing to profitability and growth
- Membership of STEP or similar groups (e.g. Solicitors for the Elderly, ACTAPS) is highly desirable
- Court of Protection experience is also desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong IT proficiency, and an ability to build lasting client and referrer relationships
- A proactive, personable, resilient, and team-focused attitude
