Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Client Partner / Senior Associate to join a highly regarded law firm in Birmingham, West Midlands. About the Role

As a Private Client Partner / Senior Associate, you will play a key role in the continued development of the Private Client department, with a particular focus on estate planning, trusts and advising high-net-worth clients.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Private Client lawyer to build their profile, influence the future growth of the team and work alongside a highly experienced group of lawyers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with clients and professional contacts, including accountants, IFAs and other trusted advisers.

The successful candidate will enjoy the autonomy to manage complex matters, contribute to business development initiatives and support the continued success of the Private Client offering across the West Midlands and wider region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a high-quality Private Client caseload with a focus on estate planning
  • Advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners and families on complex wealth planning matters
  • Providing expert advice on trusts, succession planning and inheritance tax planning
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and professional networks
  • Building relationships with accountants, IFAs and other professional advisers
  • Generating new instructions and supporting the continued growth of the department
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to maximise referral opportunities
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team where appropriate
  • Maintaining excellent technical standards and providing high-quality client service
  • Representing the firm through networking and business development activities

About You

You will be an experienced Private Client Partner or senior lawyer with the ambition and commercial ability to help develop and grow a successful practice area. This Private Client Partner / Senior Associate job would suit an individual seeking greater autonomy and the opportunity to influence strategy within a supportive and collegiate environment.

The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in estate planning and experience advising high-net-worth individuals and business owners. They will be confident handling complex trust matters and developing long-term relationships with clients and professional referrers.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • At least 8 years PQE experience within Private Client law
  • Strong experience in estate planning and advising high-net-worth individuals
  • Experience advising business owners on succession and wealth planning matters
  • Comfortable dealing with complex trust matters
  • Ideally a full STEP member
  • A strong track record in developing client and professional adviser relationships
  • Experience supervising, mentoring and supporting colleagues
  • Commercial awareness and business development capability
  • Excellent organisational and workload management skills
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to practice development
  • Excellent attention to detail and technical ability
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Professionalism, discretion and sound judgement
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to team success
