Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Client Fee Earner to join a busy established law firm based in New Mills, Derbyshire. This is a permanent, full-time job offering a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) with hybrid working, free parking and ongoing professional development and career progression.

This Private Client Fee Earner job has arisen due to a growing caseload currently managed by the Managing Partner. The successful Private Client Fee Earner will take on an existing caseload. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Private Client Fee Earner or Probate Practitioner who can work independently and manage matters from the outset.

Job Responsibilities

The incoming Private Client Fee Earner will support the Managing Partner by handling a busy and varied private client caseload. The day-to-day duties within this Private Client Fee Earner job include:

• Preparing initial client onboarding documentation
• Liaising with clients and third parties
• Managing all aspects of client matter compliance
• Taking instructions for Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Administration of Estates

• Taking instructions for Tax Returns and IHT planning
• Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Handling the full administration of estates
• Preparing legal documents including Deeds of Variation, Deeds of Appointment, Appropriation and Renunciation
• Assisting on complex probate matters, including estates with foreign assets and trusts
• Working on non-contentious matters, including taxable estates requiring IHT400 forms

Person Specification

The successful Private Client Fee Earner will have strong experience in private client work and be able to manage a caseload independently with minimal supervision. The Private Client Fee Earner will possess the following experience:

• Previous experience as a Private Client Fee Earner, Probate Practitioner or similar
• Strong experience in wills, probate and estate administration
• Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision and hit the ground running
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Experience liaising with clients and third parties
• Experience using Ticket Partner for Windows is beneficial but not essential
• A proactive, diligent and organised approach
