Eventus Legal are seeking a Practice Manager to join a growing law firm in Birmingham, West Midlands. This is a permanent, full-time Practice Manager and based on an office-based. Based in Birmingham, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal operations professional to take ownership of both practice management and regulatory compliance within a growing and ambitious law firm. The successful Practice Manager will play a key part in supporting future expansion while helping to shape processes, systems and operational standards across the business.

About the Role

As the Practice Manager, you will take responsibility for the operational management of a specialist law firm employing approximately 50 members of staff. This is a broad and influential position offering significant autonomy and exposure across the business, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional who enjoys improving processes and driving operational excellence. The Practice Manager will work closely with senior leadership to support the firm's continued growth and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of the operational management of the firm and supporting the smooth running of the business
  • Working alongside senior management to strengthen internal processes and introduce scalable operational structures
  • Acting as a key point of contact for practice management matters across the organisation
  • Managing the firm's regulatory compliance obligations and ensuring ongoing adherence to professional standards
  • Supporting the COLP and COFA with governance, compliance and risk management requirements
  • Overseeing annual SRA submissions and regulatory reporting responsibilities
  • Managing practising certificate renewals for legal staff across the business
  • Coordinating professional indemnity insurance renewals and associated administration
  • Managing office operations and facilities to ensure the business continues to operate efficiently

About You

You will already have established experience working within legal practice management and will possess a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting law firms. This Practice Manager job would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, takes ownership of their workload and is motivated by the opportunity to influence the direction of a growing business. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels within the organisation.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience working as a Practice Manager within a law firm of a comparable size
  • Strong understanding of SRA regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting COLP and COFA functions within a legal environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving
  • Confidence using legal practice management systems and business software
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance standards
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • A professional approach alongside the ability to integrate quickly into an established business
