Eventus Legal is looking for an experienced Planning Solicitor to join our clients well-regarded team based in Leeds city centre, West Yorkshire. Our client is renowned for delivering clear, commercially strategic, and pragmatic advice. This is a permanent and full time opportunity working in a team that offers the flexibility to work either as part of a wider consultancy group or as sole advisers, depending on their client’s needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, personable and passionate fee earner who can manage a large and varied caseload while delivering a high level of client service. The position offers a salary up to £65,000 (DOE), 24 days holiday, plus a further day at Christmas where the office closes, your birthday off, and the opportunity to purchase five extra days each year at the start of the new holiday year (1st April), hybrid flexibility, group pension scheme up to 5% employer contribution, regular community and team building events, such as office Reiki and massages, and a genuinely supportive and caring environment in modern, open planned and recently refurbished offices.
Role Responsibilities:
The incoming Planning Solicitor will be given the opportunity to act on both contentious and non-contentious planning matters including:
- Drafting and negotiating complex s.106 agreements
- Advising on highways issues
- Advising on planning objections and appeals
- Dealing with enforcement matters
- Advising on Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
- Guiding on permitted development rights and the prior approval process
- Telecoms objections
- Town and village green matters
- Providing support on due diligence and the planning aspects of real estate and corporate transactions
Person Specification:
The successful Planning Solicitor, based in Leeds city centre, West Yorkshire, will be an enthusiastic and ambitious planning solicitor looking to join a well-regarded Planning and wider Real Estate team. Our client encourages and foster business development skills and the successful candidate will take an active part in helping to build the business and will benefit from working closely with clients across the house building, retail, energy, investment, leisure, and minerals sectors.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess a minimum of 4-5 years PQE within planning
- Strong ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships
- Proven track record of delivering high quality work within demanding deadlines
- Collaborative, team oriented approach with a positive mindset
- Calm, professional, and composed under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
