Eventus Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join a well-established, independent Chartered Financial Planning firm in Stockport. This is a full-time, permanent job, office-based in Stockport, with a salary of up to £45,000, employer pension, 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, full exam support and an early finish every Friday. It is a genuine career job: you'll work closely with the advisers, attend client meetings and build your own client relationships, with a real route into advice over time for the right person. The firm is busy and growing, and this is a new position created off the back of that growth.
About the Role
As the incoming Senior Paraplanner, you'll be the experienced technical engine behind the advice, someone the directors can hand work to and trust to run with it. This is a varied job with real breadth, from the technical research and report writing through to sitting alongside clients, and it carries genuine scope to grow within a small, close team where your work is visible and your development is backed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing suitability reports and advice letters across pensions, investments, inheritance tax and protection
- Carrying out the technical research and analysis the advisers rely on, from attitude to risk through to fund selection
- Attending client meetings alongside the advisers and building relationships with clients directly
- Reviewing existing client arrangements against their objectives and making recommendations
- Dealing with client queries directly when the advisers are out of the office
- Maintaining and improving processes to keep work accurate and compliant
- Setting up new clients on Intelligent Office and managing letters of authority
About You
Bringing solid paraplanning experience from an IFA or financial planning firm, you'll be comfortable owning the technical work end to end. Just as important is a genuine willingness to step out from behind the desk and deal with clients face to face, as this firm wants its paraplanner involved, not hidden away.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and protection
- Confident report writing and research skills
- Experience of Intelligent Office, which would be a real advantage
- Comfort dealing with clients directly, in meetings and on the phone
- Sound organisation and accuracy across a varied workload
- A Level 4 Diploma is helpful but not essential for the right experienced candidate
Benefits and Rewards
Alongside a salary of up to £45,000, the firm offers a supportive, office-based environment and the following:
- Employer pension contributions
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Death in service cover
- Paid parking
- Full exam and study support

It advises clients across the whole of the market on pensions, investments, protection and estate planning, with a particular strength in looking after business owners and higher-net-worth families. The practice is genuinely busy and growing, and it's proud of a close, office-based culture where people learn from one another and the directors are hands-on. For an experienced paraplanner who wants client contact and a real route to develop, including towards advice in time, it's an excellent place to build a career.
