Paraplanner

Ref: 2270| Posted: 15th Apr 2026

We're recruiting an experienced Paraplanner for one of Manchester's best-regarded independent Chartered Financial Planning firms. This is a technically strong paraplanning role in a growing, owner-managed practice — not a volume operation, and not a seat to fill while someone's on leave.

The firm has held Chartered status, is independently owned by the advisers who work there, and has been advising clients across the North West for over four decades. The business has grown steadily through client referrals and selective acquisitions, and this Paraplanner hire reflects that continued growth.

What sets this firm apart is the culture. The advisers are shareholders, so they think long-term. The support team is well-resourced and well-led. The approach to financial planning advice is genuinely client-first — a practice that takes pride in getting it right.

Paraplanner responsibilities:

  • Writing detailed suitability reports and advice letters across pensions, investments and protection
  • Conducting technical research and analysis to support a team of experienced financial planners
  • Cashflow modelling and tax-efficient planning analysis
  • Fund and platform research using Adviser Asset, FE Analytics and in-house tools
  • Analysing existing client arrangements against objectives and making recommendations
  • Maintaining and improving reporting processes to ensure ongoing compliance

Paraplanner requirements:

  • Proven paraplanning experience within an IFA or financial planning practice
  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or close to completion)
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and protection
  • Confident writing and research skills — report writing and research are the core of this role
  • Familiarity with investment and provider products and platforms

Intelligent Office (IO) experience is a bonus but not essential.

Paraplanner salary and benefits:

  • Salary up to £45,000
  • Hybrid, 2 days per week working from home
  • 7% employer pension contribution
  • 4x salary death in service
  • Group critical illness cover
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Office shuts over Christmas at no cost to your leave
  • Exam support and bonuses for passing exams
