Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join a highly regarded and growing Rural Business Property team with a Legal 500 law firm based in Kendal. This is a rare opportunity to build a legal career rooted in the countryside, supporting agricultural clients across Cumbria and beyond.

This full-time, permanent job offers hybrid working, excellent long-term prospects (including the potential for SQE/CILEX qualification or training contract), and a fantastic quality of work.

About the Role

As the Paralegal, you’ll be supporting a highly experienced and well-respected Rural Property team. The role is client facing and you’ll be working with matters including:

  • Buying and selling of farms, land, and estates
  • Tenancies and succession planning
  • Agricultural and estate refinancing
  • Renewable energy projects, clawback clauses, easements and diversification

You’ll be supporting with all aspects of property work, from drafting contracts and handling searches, to using the Land Registry portal and liaising with clients and third parties. You’ll also gain exposure to unregistered land, SDLT processes, and matters of agricultural tenancy.

 

About You

This Paralegal job opportunity  would suit a candidate with a genuine interest in rural life and agriculture, and some legal experience in a property-based role. You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous legal experience in conveyancing, commercial property, or real estate
  • Used Land Registry and understand basic SDLT processes
  • A proactive, client-focused approach and willingness to learn
  • A connection to Cumbria or the wider North — whether you’re local or relocating

You may already be handling your own files, or supporting a busy fee earner, and you’re now looking to specialise in an area with long-term career potential.
