The Eventus Recruitment Group is seeking a Property Paralegal to join the respected Rural and Agricultural Property team of a well-established, award-winning law firm in Kendal, Cumbria. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with conveyancing or commercial property experience who has a genuine interest in farming, agriculture, and rural matters.
You'll be joining a close-knit and highly experienced team, supporting fee earners on a varied caseload of agricultural property and estate transactions. About the Role
As a Property Paralegal within the Rural team, you’ll be involved in a wide variety of transactional and advisory work. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting on agricultural land transactions, sales, purchases, and leases
- Drafting contracts and transfer documents
- Dealing with easements, clawback agreements and unregistered land issues
- Using the Land Registry portal to submit applications and manage requisitions
- Assisting with SDLT calculations and submissions
- Working on matters relating to tenancies, diversification, renewables, and estate planning
- Liaising directly with clients, land agents, and other stakeholders
- Running elements of your own files under supervision
About You
You’ll be a confident and organised Legal Assistant or Paralegal looking to specialise in agricultural or rural property law and able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience working in a legal support or paralegal role in a residential or commercial property department
- Proficiency with the Land Registry portal and SDLT forms
- The ability to manage aspects of files independently while handling competing priorities with ease
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work
- A genuine enthusiasm for rural affairs, agriculture and land based industries
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal, with a client-focussed approach
- A collaborative and proactive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
