About the Role
As the incoming Family Legal Secretary, you will play a key and trusted role within the Family Law team, supporting fee earners across a broad range of family matters. You will be integral to the department’s daily success, working closely with partners and solicitors to ensure the smooth and efficient progression of client matters. Your day-to-day responsibilities within this Family law job will include:
- Providing proactive secretarial and administrative support to the Family Law team
- Audio and copy typing of legal documentation and correspondence
- Assisting with the preparation of court documents and forms
- Preparing court bundles and legal forms to a high standard
- Managing diaries, booking client meetings, and scheduling appointments
- Opening and closing files and assisting with billing and onboarding
- Liaising with clients with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
About You
If you are a confident and experienced Legal Secretary with a passion for client care and team collaboration, this could be a role for you. This role suits someone who enjoys being a key part of a supportive, fast-paced family law team without the pressure of fee earning or progression. The firm is seeking someone who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience working as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Family Law
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when managing documents, diaries, and court deadlines
- Proficiency in audio and copy typing with a high degree of accuracy
- Competent in managing diaries and scheduling meetings in a busy environment
- Strong client care skills with a compassionate approach to sensitive situations
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, friendly team
- Familiarity with legal software and case management systems (experience with Tikit is advantageous but not essential)
