Role Responsibilities

The incoming Legal Administrator will provide efficient administrative and secretarial support within the busy and collaborative Residential Conveyancing team.

  • Opening, maintaining, and closing client files on the practice management system
  • Conducting AML searches, ID checks, and media screening
  • Preparing prescribed forms and other legal documentation
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, and solicitors via telephone, email, and letter
  • Handling invoices, preparing paying-in slips, and managing payments
  • Performing Land Registry pre-completion searches and post-completion tasks
  • Drafting memorandums of exchange and completion statements (with support)
  • Supporting fee earners with ad-hoc administrative duties

Person Specification

This Legal Administrator job in Newcastle Upon Tyne is best suited to someone with a background in residential conveyancing administration or legal secretarial support.

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary, Legal Administrator or Assistant in conveyancing is essential
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and practice management systems
  • High level of organisational ability with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills and a proactive “can-do” approach
  • Able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable team player who can also work independently when needed
