Eventus Recruitment is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal – Residential Conveyancing to join a highly regarded law firm based in Haslemere, Surrey. Role Responsibilities
You will support the Residential Property Department by assisting fee earners and helping progress matters efficiently and compliantly. The day-to-day duties within this role include:
- Full file opening and compliance procedures
- Drafting legal forms, documents, and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, agents, and third parties to progress transactions
- Managing files throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Preparing financial documentation and reviewing financial ledgers
- Organising meetings, taking client instructions, and preparing case documentation
- Undertaking legal research where required
- Maintaining systems and assisting the fee earner in all aspects of their caseload
Person Specification
Candidates for this Legal Assistant/Paralegal role will have at least one year of experience in a residential conveyancing setting, either as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Legal Secretary. In addition, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- A good understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction to completion
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Confidence to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
- A proactive, team-oriented approach and willingness to learn
