Eventus Legal are seeking a Legal Assistant with Corporate and Commercial experience to join a thriving commercial law firm in the Preston area. This is a full-time, permanent job (9am–5pm, Monday to Friday) offering free on‑site parking, a supportive culture, and the chance to work for a respected niche commercial practice with a national client base. Based at their office just outside Preston, this Legal Assistant job is easily commutable from Lancaster, Blackburn, the Fylde Coast and surrounding areas.
About the Role
This busy and varied Legal Assistant job in the Corporate & Commercial department will provide essential support across a range of transactions. Duties will include:
- Assisting in the Corporate and Commercial department, working alongside 2 partners
- Opening and managing new client files
- Preparing client care letters
- Performing AML checks
- Drafting corporate documents such as board minutes, share certificates, shareholder resolutions
- Making filings with Companies House
- Organising and attending client meetings and Teams video calls
- Arranging electronic signatures via DocuSign
- Structuring completion bibles and documentation indices
- Verifying banking details for clients and counterparties
- Carrying out general administrative and ad hoc tasks to ensure smooth operation
About You
You will be an experienced, professional and organised Legal Assistant who can hit the ground running. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Solid experience in corporate, commercial or corporate support work
- Strong knowledge of corporate documentation and compliance (e.g. Companies House, shareholder agreements)
- Familiarity with AML and compliance procedures and client onboarding
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong IT aptitude, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
- A proactive attitude and willingness to work flexibly when required
