Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Assistant to join a well-established and growing law firm in the Bolton area. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a salary of £24,000 to £26,000 depending on experience, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:15pm. Based in the Bolton area and commutable from Bolton, Wigan, Leigh, Horwich, Atherton, Tyldesley, Hindley and Farnworth, this opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary with a background in commercial property who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and well-resourced team.
About the Job
As the incoming Legal Assistant you will provide comprehensive support to a Solicitor within the commercial property department, playing a key part in the smooth and efficient running of a busy caseload. This is a varied and hands-on position that will suit someone who takes pride in delivering excellent client care and who enjoys working as part of a close-knit, collaborative team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of Contract Packs, Transfer Forms and other legal documents
- Attending to clients both in person and over the telephone in a professional and welcoming manner
- Submitting SDLT forms to HMRC and lodging applications with Land Registry
- Opening and closing client files in line with firm procedures
- Preparing client correspondence, enclosures and billing documentation
- Creating and maintaining accurate client records on the case management system
- Managing and maintaining fee earner diaries, including scheduling meetings and appointments
- Handling routine client correspondence and responding to day-to-day queries
- Maintaining confidentiality of client and firm information at all times
- Providing reception cover as and when required
About You
You will be an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary with a background in commercial property, looking to bring your skills to a progressive and forward-thinking firm. You will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and delivering a consistently high standard of work.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience in a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary position, ideally within a property team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a confident and professional manner
- Excellent organisational skills and a methodical, detail-focused approach to work
- The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines under pressure
- Discretion when handling sensitive client and firm information
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a commitment to excellent client service
- Confidence working with case management systems and standard legal technology
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach
