Eventus Recruitment are seeking a full-time permanent Junior Paraplanner professional to join a well-established Independent Financial Planning business based in Manchester. Role Responsibilities
The successful Junior Paraplanner candidate will support financial advisers by providing detailed investment and product research, preparing documentation, and creating suitability reports. Daily duties will include:
- Working closely with Advisers to interpret and communicate financial advice tailored to clients' individual circumstances, risk profiles, and objectives.
- Preparing research for recommendations following an in-house process, requiring competency with basic Excel spreadsheets; does not require contacting multiple third parties for initial information.
- Conducting thorough product and fund research using systems such as Adviser Asset, FE Analytics, and internal spreadsheets.
- Obtaining point-of-sale documentation including illustrations, quotations, fact sheets, product literature, and key features documents.
- Drafting suitability reports based on templated letters and adviser-submitted forms, requiring liaison with advisers to ensure comprehensive understanding and using back-office systems to source additional information.
- Maintaining accurate and compliant suitability report templates.
- Staying updated with relevant product, legislative, and technical changes.
- Adhering strictly to FCA Conduct Rules.
Person Specification
Our client is seeking individuals with the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
- Strong academic background with minimum GCSE Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
- Confident IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good understanding of pensions, investments, and protection products.
- Knowledge of provider platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and process-driven mindset.
- Commitment to continuous learning through formal and informal training.
- Capability to interpret complex information and proactively address issues.
- Reliability, adaptability, punctuality, and honesty.
- Experience using XPlan (Iress), Adviser Asset, and FE Analytics would be beneficial.
- Actively working towards achieving the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning within 3 years.
