Eventus Recruitment are seeking an experienced IFA Administrator for an independent financial planning firm in Manchester, Greater Manchester. The job is full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday, paying £28,500 to £32,000 with flexible start and finish times and hybrid working of one day a week from home. It has opened because the person in it now is moving up into paraplanning, and the package includes a 6.5% employer pension, 28 days holiday plus bank holidays and funded exams, including the Diploma. It suits an IFA administrator who already knows the platforms and wants a firm that moves people into technical work on merit.
Role Responsibilities
The IFA Administrator looks after a group of advisers and their clients, and is the person the advisers rely on to get cases done properly and on time. It is a step up from a standard client services administrator job, with more of the technical work and a hand in bringing on newer colleagues. For an administrator who wants to stay in client servicing it is a senior seat, and for one who wants to go further the route is there.
Key responsibilities include:
- Running new business on the platforms from application to completion
- Processing switches, withdrawals and changes to regular payments
- Putting together review packs and valuations ahead of client meetings
- Handling portfolio rebalances and the checks that follow
- Owning client calls and seeing queries through to an answer
- Helping newer administrators get up to speed
- Supporting the advisers' corporate clients with their workplace schemes
- Gathering policy details and quotes from providers
- Preparing client paperwork and fee agreements
- Carrying out the compliance checks each new client needs
- Keeping the back-office system and client records accurate
Person Specification
This IFA Administrator job suits someone who already works in a financial planning firm and is comfortable with pensions, investments and protection. The firm would ideally like someone who can pick up a client bank and run it without being taught the products. Experience will decide where an offer sits within the salary band.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Administration experience in an IFA or wealth management firm
- A working knowledge of pensions, investments and protection
- Hands-on experience of the main investment platforms
- A well-organised approach to a busy, varied workload
- Willingness to take a query and see it through
- Confidence with Microsoft Office
- Accuracy and a careful eye for detail
- Clear communication with clients, advisers and providers
- Reliability and a team-first attitude
Diploma study is welcome but not required.
