Eventus Legal is seeking a Head of Department for Conveyancing to join a successful team for a well-established law firm in the Wirral, Merseyside. This is a full-time, permanent position with hybrid and flexible working options available. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Head of Department who is keen to manage and support other fee earners within the team and develop the department.
Role Responsibilities
The incoming Head of Department will be able to demonstrate their vast conveyancing experience and successful supervision of the team. You will be joining a very motivated property team and will be working in collaboration with the Operations Manager. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a small caseload
- Supporting the fee earners within the team with their caseloads
- Ensuring the team are operating to maximum efficiency
- Carrying out monthly reviews with the team members along with file reviews
- Designing and maintaining a source of best practice templates for documents and letters within the CMS
- Implementing and delivering a structured training programme
- Investigating and reporting any complaints
Person specification
Applications are sought from solicitors or fee earners with excellent experience in conveyancing around sales, purchase, re-mortgaging, transfer of equity and equity release. You will possess the following skills and experience:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Effective listening skills
- Collaborative approach to work
- Supportive and ability to lead others
- Strong technical knowledge
- Coaching and mentoring skills
Previous managerial experience would be advantageous but isn’t essential.
