I am recruiting Financial Advisers — including those at the earlier stages of their adviser career — for a multi-office IFA with a long-established accountancy referral network across the North of England. These roles sit at the heart of a multi-year growth plan that's adding 40 new accountancy referral partners this year. £42,500 (basic + retention bonus), Y1 OTE c. £50,000, plus a £3,600 tax-free annual bonus on top.
This is a well-regarded independent financial planning firm with 40 advisers across multiple offices and close to £1 billion in client assets. Employee-owned, with all staff eligible for a £3,600 tax-free annual bonus once they've completed probation — equivalent to c. £5,000 gross. The culture is trust-based — there's no line management structure, and Financial Advisers are trusted to run their own diaries, build their own books and spend time wherever the work is.
What sets this firm apart is what isn't there. No line manager structure. No daily check-ins. No fixed expectation of office attendance. Financial Advisers spend most of the week working from home, with the option of office-based working in any of the firm's offices across the North of England if that suits better. Top performers earn £150,000–£200,000 once their client bank matures.
Financial Adviser responsibilities:
- Building referral relationships with accountants and solicitors
- Running client meetings across pensions, investments and protection
- Personalising suitability reports drafted by the central research team
- Conducting ongoing client reviews as your book develops
Financial Adviser requirements:
- Around 1 year IFA experience (restricted backgrounds welcome)
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning plus CAS
- Strong instincts for relationship-building — this is a referral-led model
- Self-motivation — there's no daily oversight, and that doesn't suit everyone
Financial Adviser salary and benefits:
- £42,500 (basic + retention bonus), Y1 OTE c. £50,000
- £3,600 tax-free annual bonus (c. £5,000 gross equivalent)
- Mature advisers earn £150k–£200k as their client bank develops
- 26 days' effective holiday
- Death-in-service cover
- Vitality private healthcare
- EV salary sacrifice
- 5% employer / 3% employee pension
- 3–4 days from home, or office-based if preferred
