Eventus Legal are seeking a Family Lawyer to join a specialist family law practice in Bradford, West Yorkshire, with some attendance at the firm's Keighley office. This is a full-time, permanent job position working Monday to Friday, with flexible working requests considered and hybrid working available. The salary is up to £50,000 and the package includes 24 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by one day for each year of service up to 30 days after six years, a performance-related bonus, employer pension contributions, private healthcare scheme, ongoing training and development and regular salary reviews. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor or Legal Executive with family and childcare law experience to join a supportive specialist team.

Role Responsibilities

The Family Lawyer will manage a varied family and childcare caseload, working independently while contributing to the wider team. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Handling private law children matters
  • Advising on domestic abuse cases, including Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders
  • Managing financial relief on divorce and general family matters, including disputes involving unmarried couples and cohabitation
  • Undertaking Legal Aid work and generating private paying work
  • Meeting agreed financial targets
  • Building professional relationships and contributing to networking and new business activity
  • Working towards relevant panel accreditation

Person Specification

Applications are welcomed from Solicitors or Legal Executives who can take ownership of family matters and contribute positively to the team. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ideally, a minimum of two years' experience in family and childcare law
  • Experience across private law children, domestic abuse, financial relief on divorce and general family matters
  • A good understanding of Legal Aid
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The confidence to undertake and generate private paying work
  • The ability to work towards financial targets
  • A willingness to network, develop professional relationships and contribute to new business activity
