Job Responsibilities

As the Family Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload of private family law matters while also contributing to the continued growth of the Chester office.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a broad caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, financial remedies, children matters and cohabitation disputes
• Delivering high standards of client care with empathy, professionalism and commercial awareness
• Supporting the development and growth of the family offering in Chester
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the lifecycle of each matter
• Handling files efficiently and in line with regulatory and internal compliance procedures
• Working closely with colleagues across the wider family team and other offices when required
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
• Taking an active part in networking, marketing and business development initiatives
• Helping to strengthen local connections and professional relationships in Chester and the surrounding area

Person Specification

To be successful in this Family Solicitor job, you will demonstrate:

• Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales
• Experience in private family law, ideally from 1 to 5 years’ PQE, although candidates with greater experience who can support the growth of the Chester offering are encouraged to apply
• Strong technical knowledge across divorce, financial remedy, children matters and cohabitation disputes
• The ability to manage your own caseload with an appropriate level of supervision
• A compassionate and client-focused approach to sensitive matters
• A proactive and commercially aware mindset

• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues, which would be advantageous but is not essential
