Eventus Recruitment is seeking a Family Solicitor to join a progressive and award-winning law firm in Sittingbourne. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a varied and engaging caseload, ongoing training, and a strong team culture. On offer is a salary of £45-60k (depending on experience), bonus scheme, flexible hybrid working, pension contributions, and medical plan.

Role Responsibilities

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Family Solicitor with 2-3+ years’ PQE to join a well-established legal practice. You’ll manage your own caseload of private family matters and play a key role in supporting the department’s continued growth.

The day-to-day duties of this role include:

  • Handling cases involving divorce, separation, and finances upon divorce
  • Advising and acting on private Children Act proceedings
  • Preparing and submitting TOLATA claims
  • Supporting victims of domestic abuse and seeking protective injunctions
  • Drafting legal documents such as Prenuptial and Cohabitation Agreements
  • Ensuring financial control through effective billing and collection procedures
  • Complying with firm procedures and maintaining high risk and file management standards
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff when required
  • Participating in departmental marketing and business development activities

Person Specification

The successful Family Solicitor will have strong experience in family law and demonstrate excellent client care. You will have a minimum of 2-3+ years’ PQE in Family Law. In addition, you will possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:

  • Qualified as a Solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEX)
  • Proven experience in private family law, including finance and children matters
  • Ability to manage your own caseload independently
  • Confident in using practice and case management systems
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to client billing
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to meet business needs, including occasional weekend work if required
