Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced and credible Family Solicitor with 3 years PQE to join a highly successful award-winning multi-service Legal 500 firm based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The role has been created due to growth and expansion in the existing team. Role Responsibilities:
The incoming Family Solicitor will be responsible for providing support in the following areas:
- Managing a varied caseload involving public law children matters, including care proceedings initiated by local authorities
- Advising clients throughout the Public Law Outline (PLO) process, representing parents and family members at all stages, and preparing cases for court hearings
- Ensuring clients receive clear, sensitive guidance during what can be highly complex and emotionally challenging proceedings
Handling a broad range of private law children’s cases, including disputes relating to child arrangements, parental responsibility, and contact
- Providing pragmatic, child-focused advice and advocating for clients in negotiations and court proceedings to achieve the best possible outcomes
Advising and representing clients in matters involving domestic abuse, including applications for Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders
- Offering compassionate support while acting swiftly to secure protective measures and ensure client safety
- Supporting clients across a wide spectrum of family law issues, including matters affecting unmarried couples, cohabitation disputes, and relationship breakdowns
- Providing practical, solution-focused advice tailored to each client’s circumstances
Person Specification:
The successful Family Solicitor based in Leeds, West Yorkshire will have strong family law experience, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to sensitive client matters. You should be confident managing cases independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues when required.
- Motivated and commercially minded solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), who is confident managing their own caseload and delivering high quality legal services with minimal supervision
- The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team environment
- Known for a compassionate and empathetic approach, particularly during sensitive or emotionally challenging situations
- Able to communicate complex legal information clearly and sensitively, ensuring clients feel informed, supported, and understood
- While not essential, a following of clients or referrers would be advantageous, and candidates should show an aptitude for business development and relationship building
- A willingness to work towards relevant panel accreditations is expected, alongside a commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining high standards of practice
- You will also play an active role in networking and business development initiatives, contributing to the continued growth of the firm by building new client relationships and enhancing the firm’s profile in the market
