Eventus Legal are seeking an Employment Solicitor to join a Legal 500-recognised law firm in Chelmsford, Essex, with the option of being based in Basildon. This is a permanent job offering a salary guide of up to £60,000, with genuine flexibility on both PQE and remuneration according to experience and what you can bring to the team. You will advise employers and individuals on a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with the opportunity to develop client relationships and contribute to the growth of the practice. In addition, the firm offers a pension scheme, private medical healthcare and ongoing professional development.
Role Responsibilities
The Employment Solicitor will work across a varied employment law caseload, advising a mix of business and individual clients. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
- Providing clear, commercially aware advice to employers and employees.
- Drafting employment-related advice and legal documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Building and maintaining lasting client relationships through excellent service.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to business development and the continued growth of the Employment team.
About You
The firm is interested in capable Employment Solicitors at different stages of their careers and will assess experience on its merits rather than applying a rigid PQE requirement. You should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Sound knowledge of employment law and the confidence to advise on a range of matters.
- Experience of independently managing matters, or the ability to take on increasing responsibility with appropriate support.
- Strong drafting, communication and client-care skills.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in building client relationships.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and enthusiasm for developing your employment law career.
- No fixed minimum or maximum PQE requirement; salary and seniority will be considered flexibly in line with experience.
Salary and Benefits
This is an opportunity to join a growing practice with an established client base and a supportive environment for career development. The package includes:
- Salary guide up to £60,000, with flexibility to discuss remuneration for the right individual.
- A flexible approach to PQE and experience, without an arbitrary cut-off.
- Company pension scheme.
- Private medical healthcare, subject to applicable scheme terms.
- Ongoing training and career development opportunities.
- Staff recognition and client referral reward schemes, subject to scheme terms.
- Regular staff events and internal communications.
- Office location options in Chelmsford or Basildon.
