About the Job

As the incoming Employment Lawyer, you will join the expanding team of this highly successful law firm in the Preston or Blackburn office. You will handle a varied caseload of high-quality employment law work for business clients across the North West and beyond.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a busy caseload of respondent employment matters, both contentious and non-contentious
  • Advising on disciplinary, grievance, discrimination, whistleblowing, redundancy and reorganisation matters.
  • Supporting on TUPE projects and corporate support transactions.
  • Providing commercial, pragmatic employment law advice tailored to business clients.
  • Drafting articles, attending events, and contributing to business development.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members.

This Employment Solicitor job offers the opportunity to combine hands-on advisory work with involvement in strategic team growth.

 

About You

The firm are seeking an Employment Lawyer, ideally with 3–7 years PQE and a proven track record in managing complex employment matters.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience advising employers on a full range of employment law matters.
  • Strong litigation experience in Employment Tribunal cases.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Confidence supervising junior team members.
  • Business development experience, including drafting content and networking.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive, commercial approach.
