Eventus Legal are seeking a Criminal Solicitor to join a highly regarded law firm based in Preston. Role Responsibilities
As a Criminal Solicitor, you will handle a varied caseload of criminal defence matters, representing clients in police stations and magistrates court. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of criminal defence matters, including serious and complex cases
- Attending police stations to advise and represent clients
- Preparing cases for trial, including drafting legal documents and liaising with Counsel
- Representing clients in Magistrates’ Court and instructing Counsel for Crown Court matters
- Conducting legal research and staying up to date with changes in criminal law
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent communication and client care
- Carrying out marketing and networking activities to further develop the criminal defence department
About You
You will be an experienced Criminal Solicitor, preferably duty-qualified with a strong background in criminal defence. You will also be able to demonstrate:
- A proven track record of handling a varied criminal caseload independently
- Strong advocacy skills and experience representing clients in court
- A commitment to high standards of client care and professional ethics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive and organised approach to managing cases
