The successful Residential Conveyancing Paralegal in Farnham, Surrey will join a highly regarded Legal 500 firm that is known for providing practical legal advice, delivering excellent client care and investing in the development of its employees. Role Responsibilities
The Residential Conveyancing Paralegal in Farnham, Surrey will support experienced residential property lawyers throughout the conveyancing process. Responsibilities will include:
- Opening new files and completing the relevant client identification, compliance and administrative requirements
- Ensuring files remain fully compliant and records are kept accurate and up to date
- Drafting contract packs and preparing supporting conveyancing documentation
- Managing and responding to telephone calls and correspondence from clients and third parties
- Providing regular updates to clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors
- Supporting lawyers with residential property sales and purchases
- Assisting with post exchange administration and preparing matters for completion
- Preparing Certificates of Title
- Carrying out final searches ahead of completion
- Preparing and submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns
- Preparing and submitting AP1 applications
- Dealing with Land Registry requisitions
- Supporting lawyers with diary management and general file administration
- Completing audio typing, copy typing and dictation when required
- Managing competing tasks and ensuring work is completed accurately within the required timescales
Person Specification
Applications are welcomed from Residential Conveyancing Paralegals and experienced legal support professionals who have previously worked within a residential property department. The successful Residential Conveyancing Paralegal in Farnham, Surrey will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a residential conveyancing role within the legal sector
- A good working knowledge of residential conveyancing processes and procedures
- Experience supporting lawyers throughout the different stages of a property transaction
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- The confidence to communicate professionally with clients, estate agents, lenders and solicitors
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work accurately within deadlines
- Confidence using modern legal and office IT systems
- Experience of audio typing, copy typing and diary management
- A positive, enthusiastic and professional approach
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience using Tikit Partner for Windows would be advantageous but is not essential
