Eventus Legal are seeking a Conveyancer for a full time, permanent job with a regional law firm in Northampton, Northamptonshire. This office based fee earning position offers a salary of up to £35,000 depending on experience, 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, and a day off for your birthday. You will manage residential property sales across freehold and leasehold matters, with support from an experienced solicitor and a collaborative team.

Role Responsibilities

The Conveyancer will take ownership of a residential conveyancing caseload, with a particular focus on property sales. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing your own caseload of freehold and leasehold sales, progressing files from initial instruction through exchange and completion.
• Taking client instructions, completing identity and anti-money laundering checks, and maintaining accurate file records.
• Drafting sale contracts and preparing the supporting legal documentation for each transaction.
• Dealing with enquiries raised on sale files, reviewing the relevant papers and obtaining information needed to provide replies.
• Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, other solicitors and third parties, keeping them updated as transactions progress.
• Working closely with a senior solicitor while files initially remain under their name, with scope to take greater responsibility and sign off your own files as you develop.

Person Specification

This Conveyancer position in Northampton is open to qualified and non-qualified individuals who can run their own caseload. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Experience of managing residential conveyancing sale files independently.
• Experience across both freehold and leasehold sales.
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and make use of senior support when needed.
• An interest in building your knowledge of purchase transactions, with training available. Prior purchase experience is not essential.
