Contentious Probate Solicitor

Eventus Legal are seeking a Contentious Probate Solicitor / Lawyer to join a successful law firm based in Sheffield, although there is an option to work from any one of the firms’ offices. Role Responsibilities 

The incoming Contentious Probate Solicitor / Lawyer will be joining a busy and successful Wills, Trusts, and Probate team. You will manage a full caseload whilst offering support to the overall team and look for opportunities to cross sell the other services offered by the firm.

  • Handle a caseload of contentious probate matters, including will disputes, inheritance claims, and estate administration disputes.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide expert advice to clients.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, such as solicitors and barristers, to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Stay updated with relevant legislation and legal precedents in the field of contentious probate.

Person Specification 

As the incoming Contentious Probate Solicitor / Lawyer, you will have experience in dealing with all commercial and civil litigation matters, taking on existing matters, managing and progressing your own caseload to a successful conclusion.

Importantly, you will also be able to display: 

  • Strong knowledge of probate law, estate administration, and inheritance rights.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling and successfully resolving contentious probate cases.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Expert drafting skills.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to summarise and present complex information in a clear and accessible way.
  • Innate ability to work methodically and accurately with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation skills.
