Eventus Legal are seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor for a growing, award-recognised commercial law practice based in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, also available on a 100% remote-working basis. This is a permanent job position offering a salary of up to £70,000 depending on experience, with remote working available. The firm is expanding its commercial property capability in response to a strong and developing pipeline of work and can offer significant autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to shape a package around the priorities of the successful Solicitor.
Role Responsibilities
This Commercial Property Solicitor job will involve taking ownership of a varied transactional commercial property caseload and progressing matters with a high degree of independence. Key responsibilities will include:
- Handling commercial property sales and acquisitions from instruction through to completion.
- Advising on a broad range of freehold and leasehold transactions.
- Reviewing and advising on commercial leases and related property documentation.
- Managing transactions involving commercial properties ranging from smaller owner-managed business premises through to matters valued at approximately £2 million to £3 million.
- Supporting the property aspects of wider corporate transactions where required.
- Providing practical, commercially focused advice to business clients and maintaining a responsive service throughout each matter.
- Handling property finance matters where experience permits, including bridging finance or lender-related work.
- Managing files autonomously and identifying when specialist input or escalation is appropriate.
Person Specification
The successful Commercial Property Solicitor will be a qualified solicitor with strong transactional commercial property experience and the confidence to manage a caseload without day-to-day supervision. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
- Strong experience of commercial property sales and acquisitions.
- The ability to take ownership of files and progress transactions independently.
- Sound experience of freehold and leasehold commercial property matters.
- Strong client communication skills and a practical, commercially minded approach to legal advice.
- Good organisation and file management skills, with the ability to manage competing transactional deadlines.
- Experience of property finance, bridging lending or lender work would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience gained within a regional, national or specialist commercial property team will be considered where you can demonstrate the required level of autonomy.
