Eventus Legal are seeking a Child Care Solicitor/Legal Executive with experience to join a highly regarded and established firm. This is a permanent position based in Hartlepool. The firm offers fantastic benefits including hybrid working 2/3 days a week, a generous holiday allowance rising incrementally up to 25 days holiday plus Christmas Closure given as additional, free on-site parking and discounted legal work.

Role responsibilities

The incoming Child Care Solicitor/ Legal Executive must be a proactive and ambitious. You must have experience of providing legal advice and assistance on a varied childcare caseload including care proceedings, child arrangements and special guardianship orders. Must have an ability to conduct own advocacy both in the Magistrates and County Court. Support will be offered with career progression, such as progression to the Law Society’s Children Panel.

Person specification

Applications are welcomed from qualified Child Care Solicitor’s or Legal Executive’s with at least 2 years’ PQE. The incoming qualified legal professional will be pro-active, self-motivated, flexible and demonstrate an excellent attention to detail. Ability to run own caseload from start to finish is essential. Further requirements are as follows:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills together with an organised and methodical approach to working with excellent attention to detail.
  • Willing to actively seek out new instructions to expand and develop the existing department.
  • A polite, cheerful attitude, particularly when meeting clients.
  • A committed and self-motivated individual who can work as part of a friendly team.
  • Good knowledge and use of IT systems.
