Eventus Recruitment are seeking a Legal Assistant to join the supportive and friendly team of a long-established law firm in Lancaster. These are permanent, full-time jobs (35 hours per week), with the option of part-time working (4 days) considered. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced secretary, legal assistant or paralegal. Applications are also welcome from law graduates who are seeking early career opportunities. The firm offer an excellent salary of £24,000–£28,000 (depending on experience), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a Christmas closure without needing to save leave.

 

About the Job

This is a varied and interesting job supporting fee earners in delivering legal services. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring clients receive professional, prompt and well-organised support throughout their journey.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Digital dictation and typing legal documents
  • Handling client calls and enquiries
  • Opening and maintaining client files, ensuring compliance with AML requirements
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post, including scanning and labelling
  • Using the case management system to keep files updated
  • Taking ID and conducting Anti-Money Laundering checks
  • General administration duties across the team
